Our Pastor

Our minister is Dr. William A Gerrard III who is now serving in an interim capacity.

Bill and Suzanne Gerrard have two sons, Christopher and Jonathan who both reside in Atlanta , Georgia.

He is a graduate of the Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington , Kentucky where he earned the Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees. He has done graduate study at the Divinity School at the University of Chicago and received his PhD in Theological Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

During his ministry Dr. Gerrard has served congregations in Illinois, Kentuck , West Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Florida. In addition to pastoral ministry he has taught theology and church history at several seminaries and served as Directory of Field Education at the Florida Center for Theological Studies here in Orlando.

In his preaching and teaching Dr. Gerrard seeks to makes God’s revelation in Jesus Christ relevant to the needs of people today. His basic theology is centered in Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh (John 1:14), and our crucified and resurrected Lord. The center of scripture is Jesus Christ; and the Scriptures are viewed as communicating the Word of God. He sees the Church as being very important in one’s religious life. Through the church one partakes of the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, and through the Church one is baptized into Christ.

In all of the Churches he has served he stresses the need for persons to engage in the study of Scriptures and prayer. In the Church one is nurtured in the Christian Faith and grows in one’s own relationship with God. In his view the Church enables a person to develop a deep religious faith and to reach out to others who are in need.

Dr. Gerrard feels it is very important for him to enable the church to welcome persons in worship and to invite others to accept Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives.
